Marrakech
So near, but so different
Marrakech is arguably the nearest place to Europe that is culturally so different. In a little over 3 hours, one is transported from European chic to African mayhem!
It’s a splendid culture shock. From the chaos on the roads, to the sights and smells of the medina, it is simply so different
And it is a shoppers paradise. Whether it be leather goods, rugs, spices, soaps and oils, the souks are awash with colour and temptation.
And, of course, you must bargain. Some people really dislike what I suppose is the confrontational nature of bargaining. But Moroccans are generally incredibly likeable and always willing to have a smile and a laugh. No matter how torturous the bargaining procedure, it is invariably concluded remarkably amiably.
To help navigate you through the chaos we recommend Riad Zamzam, where Emma and Marcus are a mine of information and assistance. They will ensure your stay in Marrakech is smooth and rewarding, and can offer advice and recommendations on all aspects of your stay in Marrakech.
